The system starts beneath the surface
Stone carpet, resin-bound aggregate and other commercial names may refer to different solutions. The system, resin and intended use need to be identified. The substrate must be assessed for stability, cracking, levels and water management. A new surface layer does not, by itself, correct existing substrate problems.
Samples, edges and intended use
A photograph cannot replace a physical sample. Aggregate, grain size and resin affect texture and appearance. Borders, joints, steps and material transitions need to be detailed in the design. Vehicle entrances, pool areas and pedestrian paths have different requirements; strength, grip and permeability need confirmation for the chosen application.
What affects cost and maintenance
Area, substrate preparation, access, design, edges and the specified system influence a proposal. A universal price per square metre is not reliable without knowing these conditions. Cleaning should follow the system guidance; solvents, aggressive products or unsuitable washing methods can damage the finish.
Frequently asked questions
Can it be installed over existing paving?
Only after assessing the substrate, stability, levels, drainage and compatibility. Removal or additional preparation may be necessary.
Can a family name be included?
The design can include names, initials, monograms and original borders. Scale, contrast and execution possibilities are refined before approval.
How is a proposal prepared?
With the location, approximate area, intended use, photographs and site assessment. The specification identifies scope and necessary preparation.
